The Classroom of the Future Foundation (CFF) has convened its Innovation in Education Awards on the last Wednesday in May for the last 16 years. This year’s event was scheduled for Wednesday, May 20th at SeaWorld San Diego. Over the last three weeks, CFF has closely monitored the rapidly evolving COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak and reflected on alternate plans for our annual event. We are committed to following the recommendations laid out by our state agencies and the CDC.

In light of continually developing circumstances and with the best interest of the community in mind, we have made the decision to postpone our 17th Annual Innovation in Education Awards to Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at SeaWorld.

Over the last three weeks, concern has mounted rapidly about COVID-19. Our top priority should always be the health and safety of our guests, and we believe it’s in everyone’s best interest to host the event on September 16th when threats of COVID-19 have subsided.

We hope you will consider attending our 17th Annual Innovation in Education Awards this fall, and help us honor the 2020 Class of Award Winners. A limited number of complimentary tickets will be provided to all 42 school districts in San Diego County this summer. Tickets are available for purchase here and more information about sponsorships can be found here. Thank you for supporting CFF and for your commitment to innovation in education.

If you have any questions about our annual event, please do not hesitate to contact Jane Schlosberg at jane@classroomofthefuture.org.

During this difficult and uncertain time of the COVID-19 outbreak, CFF stands ready to support all of our San Diego County students, families, and educators. We are committed to providing support and resources to the community at this unprecedented time of school closures. We encourage you to visit our recent blog about the resources being offered by our partner, the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) at this time, as well as additional resources here from CFF and its partners.

We thank all of our educators, healthcare workers, government officials, grocery store workers, and other essential community personnel for their dedicated support during this challenging time.
