Check presentationOn Tuesday, June 28th, the Classroom of the Future Foundation (CFF) and our 2016 Impact Awardee Health Sciences High & Middle College (HSHMC) were recognized in the San Diego Padres’ pregame ceremony. San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) Chief Energy Delivery Officer and CFF Board member Caroline Winn presented CFF with a generous $10,000 donation to support the organization’s continued efforts to bring greater innovation to education.

The Health Pathways program at HSHMC in City Heights is a four-year, 9-12 grade comprehensive career development model that integrates an on-site healthcare internship and coursework leading to industry certification and preparation for a certification exam.

As the winner of CFF’s best-in-show award at the 2016 Innovation in Education Awards, HSHMC incoming-senior pathways students Alexis and Isela Gutierrez joined HSHMC Health Pathways Program teacher Annaleah Gonzalez and CFF CEO James Wright on the Petco Park field to accept the honor. You can see the pregame ceremony online here, as well as additional pictures on our Facebook page here and in the San Diego Padres pregame gallery. This exciting opportunity was made possible by the San Diego Padres and SDG&E, as part of their “Going to Bat for San Diego!” partnership. This partnership involves a variety of initiatives and community efforts that will benefit local nonprofit organizations, with a focus on supporting first responders, veterans, STEM education, and health and human services.
