CFF was very fortunate this fall to have the support of two incredible volunteers. Sarah Tanori and Lexi Wiggins have assisted the organization since the late summer in accomplishing a variety of duties.
Sarah Tanori
Sarah Tanori works primarily in grants research and social media. A senior in SDSU’s Rhetoric and Writing Studies program and a worker at the SDSU Women’s Center, her passion lies in writing and non-profit work. Sarah hopes to pursue a career in technical communications and plans to write a book of essays in the future.
“As a student who comes from a low-income background, I love the work that CFF does because it speaks to my struggle as a first-generation student. I hope that my internship with the non-profit will help to empower these communities in any way possible.”
Lexi Wiggins
Lexi Wiggins came to CFF as a social media intern this past summer. She graduated from UCLA in 2015 with a degree in Political Science and Global Studies. Currently, she works as a Substitute Teacher in the Temecula Valley Unified School District and plans to go back to school for her M.Ed and Teaching Credential in the summer. One of her dreams is to spend a summer teaching English in Thailand.
“I sought out an internship with CFF because I want to broaden my educational perspective in hopes of creating a better learning environment for my future students. I want to gain exposure to various technical advancements and educational processes that can be applied to further learning in my own classroom. CFF has allowed me to connect with educators and learn about the various EdTech programs they have initialized in their schools.”
